Description
Data Operators are flexible data entry forms designed to simplify data entry for different types of operators. The system allows tenant admins to:
Create Custom Forms: Build data entry profile forms with different field configurations
Assign User Roles: Create users with "Data Operator" role to access entry pages
Flexible Field Selection: Choose which fields are required vs. optional
Multiple Form Types: Support different entry types (Asset Entry, Personnel Entry, Visitor Entry, etc.)
Pre-configured Forms:
Corporate Office Reception Visitor Entry: Visitor registration
Corporate Personnel Entry: Employee data entry
Hospital Asset Entry: Medical equipment registration
Hospital Personnel Entry: Staff data entry
Features:
Bulk Import: Import data from Excel/CSV files
Inline Editing: Edit records directly in grid
Field Validation: Required fields and data type validation
Segment Assignment: Assign tags/segments during entry
When to Use
Customer needs simple data entry interface for reception staff
Hospital wants quick asset registration at reception
Organization needs bulk data import capability
Facility wants different forms for different entry types
Dependencies & Requirements
Data Operator Role: Users must have "Data Operator" user role
Profile Pages: Data Operator Profile Pages must be configured
Permissions: Appropriate permissions for data entry
Configuration Steps
Step 1: Create Data Operator Profile Page
Navigate to Settings > Data Operators > Profile Pages
Click "Create New Profile Page"
Configure profile page:
Name: Enter descriptive name (e.g., "Hospital Asset Entry")
Type: Select type from dropdown:
Asset: For equipment/asset entry
Personnel: For staff/employee entry
Visitor: For visitor entry
Configure fields:
Required Fields: Select fields that must be filled:
MAC Address (for assets)
Name
Email (for personnel/visitors)
Other fields as needed
Assigned Fields: Select all fields that should appear on form:
MAC Address
UUID
Name
Segments/Tags
Assigned To (Owner)
First Name / Last Name
Email / Phone
Updated At
Save the profile page
Step 2: Assign Data Operator Role
Navigate to Users > [Select User]
Assign role: "Data Operator"
Grant access to specific profile pages:
Select which profile pages this user can access
Save user configuration
Repeat for all data operators
Step 3: Access Data Entry Forms
Data operators log in to system
Navigate to Data Operators menu
Select appropriate profile page (e.g., "Hospital Asset Entry")
Use form to enter data:
Fill required fields
Add optional fields as needed
Assign segments/tags
Save entry
Step 4: Bulk Import (Optional)
Navigate to data entry form
Click "Import from File" or similar option
Upload Excel/CSV file:
Ensure file matches required format
Include all required fields
Match column headers to field names
Review import preview
Confirm import
Verify imported data
Available Field Types
MAC Address: BLE tag MAC address (required for assets)
UUID: Beacon UUID
Name: Asset/Person name
Segments: Tag/segment assignment (multi-select)
Assigned To: Owner assignment (Guest selection)
First Name / Last Name: For personnel entry
Email / Phone: Contact information
Updated At: Last modification timestamp (auto-filled)
Troubleshooting
Issue: Data operator cannot access forms
Check: User has "Data Operator" role assigned
Check: User has access to specific profile pages
Check: Profile pages are created and enabled
Check: User permissions are correct
Issue: Required fields not saving
Check: Required fields are filled
Check: Field validation rules (e.g., email format, MAC address format)
