All access points and LAN controllers need to be added to the Access Points.
To manage access points devices, select Settings > Access Points.
To see more filters, click “More".
Click to export the existing list of access points.
Click on the top right
to check current and licensed access point counts, if there is an anomaly in the system, it will fix it.
to bulk import the access points list from a file to the system.
Click on “Click here to download sample file” to download the sample Excel file format that can be imported.
Fill the columns in the format shown above Excel file example.
- Vendor: Type the vendor name of the device (Aruba, Meraki, Avaya, Cisco, Huawei, Cambium, Ruckus, Extreme Networks, Ubiquity, or Tp-Link)
- Model: Type the model of the device. In the list below, the ones to the left of the hyphen are the vendor, and the ones to the right are the model. Fill in the excel cells with a combination as in the list shown below.
Make sure the typing of the vendor and model is the same as shown in the list to avoid getting errors after import.
- Mac Address: Type the MAC address of the device. Note that Ethernet MAC address does not work, only Radio MAC Address is required
- Name: Type the name of the device that will appear in the system
- Location: Type in which location in the system the devices will be imported. Make sure the typing of the location is the same as in the system to avoid getting errors after import
- Building: (Not mandatory) Type in which building of the location the devices will be imported
- Description: (Not mandatory) Type the description of the device
After adding all of the access points in the list, save the excel file. Then click on "Choose File" from the system to select the file to import. Click on the "Import" button to import the data from Excel file to the system.
To create a new access point in the system, click on the “Create” button.
- Name: Type the name of the device that will appear in the system
- MAC Address: Type the MAC address of the device. Note that Ethernet MAC address does not work, only Radio MAC Address is required
- Device Model: Select the model and vendor of the device
- Location: Select in which location in the system the device will be imported
- Building: Select in which building of the location in the system the device will be imported
- Floor: Select in which floor of the building of the location in the system the device will be imported
- Description: Type the description of the device
- Segments: Assign segments to group the devices. Type and click Enter to create a new segment
