To ensure a smooth and efficient installation of your kiosk software, we require all devices to be properly configured prior to your scheduled installation appointment.
Please complete the following checklist on each kiosk device.
1. Operating System Setup
Start by ensuring the device is running a fresh, up-to-date operating system to prevent software conflicts.
Clean Installation: Format the device and install a clean, fresh version of Windows.
Windows Updates: Run Windows Update and ensure the OS is fully updated to the latest available version.
2. Power and Sleep Configuration
Because kiosks need to remain active at all times, it is critical to disable all power-saving and sleep features.
Basic Power Settings:
Turn off the display: Set to Never
Put the computer to sleep: Set to Never
Power Plan: Select the High Performance power plan.
Advanced Power Settings: Navigate to the Advanced Power Settings menu and verify the following configurations:
Sleep after: Set to Never
Allow hybrid sleep: Set to Off
Hibernate after: Set to Never
System Settings:
Fast Startup: This feature must be completely Disabled.
Disable Automatic Windows Updates: After completing all updates, disable automatic Windows Update to prevent unexpected restarts on the kiosk device.
3. Remote Access Setup
Our installation team requires remote access to complete the software deployment.
Install TeamViewer: Download and install the latest version of TeamViewer on the device.
Set Fixed Password: Configure TeamViewer with a fixed (non-changing) password for unattended access.
Once you have completed these preparations for all kiosk devices, please reach out to our team with your remote access credentials.
Please provide:
The TeamViewer ID for each device.
The fixed password for each device.
